I made a week of repeated choices that resulted in success.
I made a choice to have my meals planned all week long.
I made a choice to login to Spark People every day log my food and do Spark Coach
I made a choice to go to the gym every day.
These choices resulted in a successful week on the scale.
Yet more important than that number on the scale this week is the difference I am already feeling ….. physically and mentally.
My resting heart rate has substantially dropped which I attribute to walking at a moderate pace. Right now that is enough.
One night this week I did push myself some. A friend at the gym was in her last week of a 6 week weight loss challenge and I was keeping her company as she was pushing toward the finish line. I am so excited to be back to watch her journey that is really just beginning. She enjoys going to the gym but has never understood that you can't out train a bad diet. Through the help of this challenge she discovered what I had been previously telling her. In six weeks she achieved a 25.5 lbs loss which was 9.5% of her body weight. I hope she wins that $1,000.00.
We walked for an hour then we jumped into Zumba for roughly 20 minutes. My day ended with 93 minutes of active time and 14,000 steps. That day pushed me to finish in the number two spot for my Fitbit Workweek Hustle. It was a good week for movement.
I mentally feel better also. I am in control at least in what I am eating if I am unable to control anything else in life. It's something I am doing that is a positive and I know my choices today will result in who I will be tomorrow.
I have a tad bit of spark that hasn't turned into the flame yet but I am taking it one day at a time. One choice at a time.
We are what we repeatedly do.
I Can and I Will Watch Me.
